Nela, the acclaimed live-fire restaurant located at London’s landmark The Whiteley, is launching “Saxually Active Sundays,” a monthly all-day event in collaboration with the creative community Saxually Active and musician Ben Barnett (The SaxMan). Debuting on April 26th and running the last Sunday of every month, this series transforms the restaurant into an immersive art and music space. The event blends Nela’s signature high-end dining with live performances, fashion, and curated artwork to redefine the traditional Sunday service.
During the day, from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm, guests can enjoy a shared-style brunch for £55 per person, featuring dishes like Taboon Roasted Lamb Loin and Flame-Grilled Picanha. For an additional fee, diners can upgrade their experience with a signature “Sax on the Beach” mezcal cocktail. The atmosphere is fueled by roaming performers and DJs, creating a high-energy environment that transitions into an even more immersive creative showcase as the evening progresses.
From 6:30 pm onwards, the focus shifts to live hybrid saxophone sets and guest appearances from various artists. While the evening entertainment builds momentum, the restaurant will serve its à la carte menu, which includes specialty dishes like Torched Zeeland Yellowtail and teriyaki-glazed chicken wings. The collaboration between Nela and the Saxually Active community aims to offer a multi-sensory experience that merges honest, seasonal gastronomy with cutting-edge contemporary artistry.
